The Slow Brush (the “Site”) respects your privacy. This page explains what information the Site collects, why, and what your choices are.

What we collect

Web analytics. We use two analytics services to see which pages are read, how readers find the Site, and which links are useful:

• Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
• Google Analytics 4, which uses first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to count visits and pages viewed. It records pages visited, time spent on them, the referring website, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics 4 does not store), device and browser type, and clicks on links to retailers such as Amazon. Google processes this data on our behalf under Google’s Privacy Policy. We have turned off Google signals and advertising features, and analytics data is kept for 14 months.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. Anyone can opt out of Google Analytics on every website with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Outgoing affiliate clicks. When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (for example, Amazon) may set cookies on its own domain. The Slow Brush does not receive your personal information from those cookies — only an anonymous signal that a purchase originated from our link. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.

Contact messages. If you write to us through the contact form or by email, your message and email address are used only to reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit opt-in.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not run third-party advertising on this site.
• We do not use profiling or behavioural targeting.
• We do not share your contact information with anyone.

Cookies

Essential storage is used to remember display preferences (such as light/dark mode) and your analytics choice. Google Analytics sets the cookies described above, subject to your choice where consent is required. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not break the site, but some preferences may reset.

Your rights

You may ask us, at any time, what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email the address on the contact page and we will reply within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in any way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, post a notice on the home page.
